The sleeping record-breakers

The sleep out volunteers

BHSF has broken its own cash-raising record for sleeping out for charity by raising over £2,000 for homeless youngsters in the city.

Each year staff from BHSF get involved in the St Basil’s corporate sleep-out and this year saw not only an increase in the number of volunteers but also in the amount of money raised through sponsorship.

St Basil’s helps young homeless people to find and keep a home and develop their confidence through employment education and is a partner charity of BHSF.

Peter Maskell, chief executive, said: “BHSF has been involved with St Basil’s for some years and it has been a tradition for several brave volunteers from our staff to brave the cold and wet to raise cash.

“It is heartening that we’ve managed to break two records this year and I’ve no doubt we will be looking to do the same next year”.
