Mike’s an achiever, and that’s official
Mike Tresham, who joined BHSF just over three years ago, has been named as the Birmingham Insurance Institute’s ‘Young Achiever of the Year’.
He was presented with his award at the BII’s annual dinner at the Metropole Hotel, by Peter Thompson, the managing director of Thompson and Bryan Ltd, the sponsors of the trophy.
Mike, who is 27, joined BHSF in 2003 on the firm’s graduate training programme and is now the quality systems team leader, part of the customer service department. He has also been on the BII’s Young Members committee for three years, the last two as treasurer.
His award came after a submission from the company on his career development and the work he has put in on projects throughout the year.
Two other members of BHSF staff - Melanie White and Geoff Guerin - who have been through the graduate training programme, were also short-listed for the BII award.
Mike Tresham said “I am delighted to receive this year’s Young Achiever award. It is great to work for an employer who is prepared to recognise effort by nominating colleagues for a high-profile award, and to win is a great personal achievement.”
Peter Maskell said “Mike was short-listed in the Young Achiever contest in 2007 but with additional experience and some excellent projects under his belt since, he is a worthy winner this year.”
The BII is the professional body for those working in the Birmingham insurance market and provides a varied programme of educational, charitable and social events for its members.
