Carla Louise is on the road to success as a mobile beauty therapist.

With the help of the Prince’s Trust business programme, Carla is taking her beauty treatment expertise into the offices of Birmingham.

The 24-year-old from Newtown launched Dignity-Beauty at the beginning of the year after gaining national diploma level 3 in body massage and NVQ level 2 in beauty therapy.

Melanie White, from BHSF, is acting as Carla’s Prince’s Trust mentor in a two-year programme of business guidance on all subjects surrounding the setting up and running of a company.

Carla’s beauty business includes a whole range of treatments for men and women. “I always wanted my own business”, she said. “I looked at hairdressing and midwifery, but they were not for me”.

“Now I’ve found what I am really interested in”.

She has already mounted a leaflet campaign in the north of the city and will be expanding it in the near future, and she is now beginning a marketing initiative among companies.

The idea is to build up a portfolio of corporate clients which she can regularly visit.

Melanie said: “Carla came through the usual channels to the Prince’s Trust business programme which provides money and support to help young people start their own businesses.

“I have been meeting her on a regular basis to guide her through all the business issues that face anyone starting their own company.

“Carla’s business is different and I’m sure in time will become a success”.
