BHSF staff go on the run for charity
On Sunday April 26, three members of staff from BHSF will be under starter’s orders for the London Marathon.
And 26 miles and 385 yards later, they will have raised over £4,000 for charity.
The trio - Geoff Guerin, business improvement officer, Paul Sheldon, an account assistant, and Karen Broom, an employee benefit consultant in Leeds - have been busy training for several hours each day, up to five days a week.
Paul and Geoff are collecting sponsorship for Phab Kids, which promotes and encourages people with and without physical disabilities to come together on equal terms, and Karen is raising money for Sense, a charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind.
Geoff said: “We are aiming to run the marathon in under four hours. The training is hard going, especially in the rain, but it will all be worth it when we cross the finish line and know that we have raised the necessary sponsorship for our charities”.
