The work of a talented 15-year-old girl from Acorns Children’s Hospice will be seen by over 1,200 clients and friends of BHSF this Christmas.

It will be the design that appears on the BHSF corporate Christmas card following a competition among the children at the Selly Oak, Birmingham, hospice.

For the past five years BHSF has run a design competition with the children of two local schools in Ladywood, Birmingham, but this year asked some of the children who use Acorns, one of their corporate social responsibility partners, to enter.

Acorns offers a network of vital care and support services to children who have life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses, and their families, across the Midlands.
Lauren was presented with her prize by Peter Maskell, chief executive of BHSF, who also handed over a cheque for £500 towards the funds of the hospice, and Laura Freeman from the company added £220 she had raised with a sponsored midnight walk.

Peter Maskell said: “Acorns is a relatively new CSR partner to BHSF and throughout the year staff have attended events and raised money towards the fantastic work that they do.

“Lauren’s design is a wonderful example of the talents of the young people who use the services at Acorns and has given us an excellent card to send out this Christmas”.
