BHSF shares in Aon sucess
Midlands-based benefits provider BHSF is celebrating its collaboration with Aon in landing the Chelmsford Borough Council Health Plan.
The plan covers 825 employees who will have the opportunity to top up their cover and to add partners.
The scheme, brokered through Aon’s Farnborough office, provides employees with diagnostic consultation, therapies, dental and optical benefits, as well as providing access to health assessments.
Lisa Mulhern, senior consultant at Aon, said: “We are delighted to be helping Chelmsford Borough Council’s employees look after both their current health and their future wellbeing, through a plan that offers both treatment and preventative options.
“In placing the business with BHSF, we know that the client will receive excellent value as well as first class customer service. We work with BHSF on behalf of a number of large employers and have a high regard for their quality and flexibility; as a result we are confident that the scheme will deliver to the objectives set by the client.”
A particular concern in placing the scheme was the need for the employer to extract maximum value for the available budget.
Florence Agyei, HR services manager at Chelmsford Borough Council, said: “These are tough times in the public sector.
“We impressed upon our advisors the need to keep costs down, while providing a range of benefits that would themselves aid in reducing the costs of absence and staff turnover”.
The success is yet another for BHSF who says that sales are running well ahead of 2009.
Brian Hall, sales and marketing director says the success this year is down to a growing realisation among intermediaries that health cash plans can add real value to an employer’s remuneration package.
“In the past, brokers have tended to leave cash plans directly in the hands of the providers, choosing not to get involved, but that has changed.
“As a provider we now write the majority of our business through intermediaries both on employer-funded schemes and through voluntary benefits arrangements.
“Times are tight and employees need help with their health costs. Our ability to fully bespoke plans for as few as 35 employees, puts us in the driving seat for this kind of cover”.
