Record numbers at BHSF annual golf day

Record numbers at BHSF annual golf day

Eighteen teams from all over the country teed off for the annual golf day of BHSF, the Birmingham-based healthcare insurer.

It was held at Stonebridge Golf Club, Meriden, for clients and intermediaries of the company and the competition was followed by a presentation dinner.

Team winners were Timet UK; overall individual winner was Simon Fell from Jardine Lloyd Thomspon; nearest the pin Steve Ellis (Premier Choice); longest drive Darren Grady (Prison Officers Association) and the bandit prize went to Chris Gunnell of First Assure Ltd.

Brian Hall, BHSF marketing director, said: “It was a very successful day with a record number of entries and keen competition”.

On the day golfers sportingly played in pink to raise money for The Genesis Appeal - the UK's only charity entirely dedicated to the prevention of breast cancer. All entry fees and 'fines' for not wearing pink, along with money raised through the raffle to win a jaguar car of your choice for the weekend, were handed over to The Genesis Appeal at the after dinner presentation. BHSF kindly cash matched the money raised, resulting in a total of £1,700 being donated to the charity.
