Ray and Jo are running again!

Ray and Jo at the launch of this year's fun run

Ray Munday and Jo Payne have again thrown their support behind this year’s Coventry

Fun Run.

Ray, who had a life-saving operation last year, has vowed to run every year to raise money for the organisation that helped save his life – the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

He said; “The Foundation has done so much for me, the least I can do is help them by running. And, to be honest, it’s also a great way to stay in shape!”

Donna Stokes, British Heart Foundation’s Fundraising Manger said; “I am delighted that Ray is participating in this year’s Coventry Fun Run. Supporters like Ray are vital in helping us raise funds to enable the British Heart Foundation to continue its life saving work.

“The event is so well organised, that it makes taking part really easy. And, as Ray says, you get to work out your heart, have fun and raise funds for a good cause at the same time! If anyone else wants to run for us, please give me a call on 0121 353 2087, and I’ll get you a BHF T Shirt!”

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) is also supporting this year’s event.

As many know, the WNAA is one of a few of the UK’s air ambulances which has a doctor on board as well as paramedics, and is the UK’s busiest air ambulance service.

Jo Payne says; “Our supporters have taken part in the Coventry Fun Run for many years, and we hope that they will all run again this year. With no Government or Lottery funding, the Air Ambulance relies on the people of Coventry and Warwickshire to help us. Without them and their continued support, the Air Ambulance just wouldn’t be able to operate and help save lives.”

Any runners wanting to run for the WNAA are asked to give Jo a call on 08454 130999.

The Coventry Fun Run is to be held on Sunday 27th June, with the usual start and finish in the War Memorial Park.

The Run is again sponsored by BHSF, the Midlands based employee benefits and health insurer.

Fun-runners over the years have raised well over £1.2million for many charities and good causes, with any surplus funds being distributed to such causes within the city.

Anyone wishing to support either the BHF or WNAA this year, should get in touch with either Donna Stokes or Jo Payne. Or why not log on to www.coventryfunrun.co.uk and register right now?
