BHSF boosts occupational health arm
BHSF Group Limited and PTH Group Limited have agreed an arrangement by which PTH has joined a new division of BHSF Group to be called BHSF Occupational Health Limited.
PTH, a Bromsgrove-based occupational health company, was formed in 2002 but traces its origins back to 1993 when it was based around an NHS Occupational Health Department, becoming a partnership trading as Performance Through Health.
Today PTH has grown to become a key provider of occupational health services to clients in the Midlands, Wales and the South, with a strategy to expand elsewhere in the UK.
Peter Maskell, chief executive of BHSF, said: “BHSF has promoted workplace health since 1873. We currently provide occupational health services to a number of our client businesses under contract and through Abbott Burke Associates Limited which joined BHSF in June.
“We perceive that the market for OH products is large and growing, and see PTH as a significant addition to our capability in serving our corporate customers. We are very pleased to have this highly regarded company join BHSF.
“We are looking to substantially grow BHSF Occupational Health Limited by a combination of organic growth and further acquisition. We are well known amongst HR professionals for our not-for-profit ethos, straight-talking, high quality and outstanding value for money. We aim to follow the same principles in developing BHSF Occupational Health Limited.
BHSF can trace its roots back to the formation of the Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund in 1873. The Group has two health insurance subsidiaries and two insurance brokerages which also offer a range of personal insurances, employee benefits and HR support products to the Group’s 3,000 client organisations. 400,000 people are covered under its health and personal accident insurances.
