Dr Philip McCrea is Managing Director of BHSF Occupational Health Limited and an accredited specialist in Occupational Health since 1992. He holds Membership of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine both in London and Dublin and specialises in the resolution of work-related stress and sickness absence. He has attended 168 Industrial Tribunals as an expert witness in the UK and Ireland over the past 20 years.
Professor Tom Sensky is Emeritus Professor of Psychological Medicine at Imperial College London and Consultant Psychiatrist in the Health at Work Team at West London Mental Health NHS Trust. His occupational health work includes assessments for professional regulators, particularly the GMC. His interest in Chronic Embitterment developed mainly from talking with Occupational Health patients and he has carried out research to better understand the condition. He has a long-standing clinical and research interest in psychological aspects of chronic illness, physical as well as mental, particularly including the understanding and measurement of suffering.
David Newman graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1989 following which he went into full-time practice. Since 1996 he has been Director of a private osteopathic practice in north London and is a member of the General Osteopathic Council. In 1997 David qualified as an accredited functional capacity evaluator and has, to date, assessed in excess of 3000 individuals for insurance companies, employers, rehabilitation companies and Occupational Health Physicians in the UK and Ireland, as well as North America. David is experienced in developing strategies for effective work retention and return solutions, and has acted as an expert witness in cases relating to CPAD examinations.
Dr. Steve Turley graduated in medicine in 1986 and trained as a GP in North East England obtaining his MRCGP in 1991. He has had a parallel role in OH since 1992 and obtained his Diploma in Occupational Medicine in 1996. He currently spends 50% of his time as a GP and 50% as an Occupational Physician in a variety of roles for different providers encompassing both the public and private sectors.
Stuart Nottingham is a Chartered Physiotherapist who has 15 years' experience in building and developing best practice in musculoskeletal occupational health contracts throughout the UK. He has a particular interest in functional testing of physical ability using functional capacity evaluation (FCE) skills, which he studied in the USA under the founder of the process and brought these skills to the UK market. He passionately believes that fitness to work opinions need to be completely evidence-based. He has extensive experience working with professional cricket and rugby teams as well as Formula 1 racing teams.
Michelle Chamberlain is Commercial Services Director for Thursfields Solicitors. Michelle specialises in employment law and acts for employers and employees.
