You’re. On. Mute.

I wonder just how many times we’ve all used that phrase over the last year….?!

Well at 3pm today it’s something that everyone at BHSF will be embracing because we’re adopting it for a special fundraising campaign for our charity partner, the Brain and Spine Foundation.

Led by our CSR Committee, we will be blocking out calendars and avoiding calls for an hour, to enjoy uninterrupted focus time and raise funds through silence.

The Brain & Spine Foundation is the only UK-wide charity providing information and support for every one of the over 470 neurological disorders which affect people in the UK. There are more people in the UK living with a neurological condition than cancer, heart disease, or diabetes, but you wouldn’t know it. One-in-six people are affected by at least one neurological condition – that is over 13 million people – and sometimes they can feel silenced, or not spoken about enough, so the sponsored silence is a fantastic way to raise funds, and awareness.

The charity is hosting its main sponsored silence event on Friday 18 June 2021, but we’ve brought our event forward so that as many colleagues as possible could join and support. We’ve made the day as inclusive as we can by facilitating a temporary helpdesk closure and working closely with our clinicians’ schedules.

To find out how you can get involved, visit the Brain & Spine Foundation’s event pages and we look forward to joining you in the pledge to raise monies for the cause.

Sssshhhhh!
